Indications
- Primary osteoarthritis (primary arthrosis)
- Post-traumatic osteoarthritis (post-traumatic arthrosis)
- Secondary osteoarthritis (other secondary arthroses)
- Avascular necrosis of the femoral head
- Inflammatory arthritis, insofar as the remaining bone substance permits (strict diagnosis as increased fracture rate!)
- Existence of femur deformations and/or already existing implants, which complicate the use of femur components with a shaft
- Existing high risk of dislocation in prior disorders
Contraindications
- Acute infection
- Malignant tumours
- Inadequate bone structures in the acetabulum or femur
- Inadequate bone quality (e.g., osteoporosis and osteomalacia)
- Insufficient patient compliance, alcohol or drug abuse
- (Decompensated) renal insufficiency
- Allergy against an implant component (cutaneous Co or Cr allergies do not represent a contraindication)
